Hawaii has something for everyone! I try and visit Hawaii at least once a year, and each time, it’s a different experience. With my recent trip, I joined my crazy, fun, beloved group of friends to celebrate my friend’s another year around the sun. Whether I’m going solo or exploring with a large group, finding delicious food is always a priority.

Memorable Bites in Maui
I stayed solo at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa for a relaxing long weekend before the group arrived. This was my second time here, and it did not disappoint! You can book with points to stay here, but I would double check blackout dates and make sure that you book early so there are rooms available.
- Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa with Club Access
- Booked the hotel with my points and paid for club access because by the time I booked, the hotel booking with club access was no longer available.
- Meals at the club exceeded my expectations, so I thought it was worth what I paid at $50/day. I considered the alternative to either order Uber Eats or get a car rental to drive around and get food, but it would have been more than $50/day. That’s why I opted for club access.
- Easy beach access with beautiful sunsets. If you end up booking a service at the spa, there’s a covered area with a beach lookout for people to stay as long as they want until they close. I fell asleep listening to the ocean waves.
- Free workout classes – I joined in on the morning yoga and mat pilates sessions. Refreshing start to each morning.
- Stay and experience was a 5/5 – would book again.

- Miso Phat
- Get their rolls or poke bowls if you try out this popular spot. Definitely get the ice cream for dessert.
- I rate this place a 3/5 with points deducted because of their omakase. I’m fairly picky with my omakase, and this wasn’t it for me. However, the other items mentioned above were delicious and filled us up after a morning hike.

- Star Noodle House
- I always come here every time I’m in Maui. I took my friends here for their first time and they loved it! We basically ordered the entire menu, and everything was delicious.
- I rate this place a 5/5 – friendly service, great food and drinks, and accommodated a large group of 8. We had to wait a bit since we didn’t make a reservation ahead of time, but that wasn’t a big deal and time went by fast while we chatted outside. If you don’t want to wait, you can place a takeout order.

Memorable Bites in Kauai
This was my first time in Kauai, and I absolutely fell in love with the Garden Isle. If you are sensitive to the heat, I suggest booking accommodations with air conditioning. Bring bug spray and sunscreen if you plan on hiking.
- Konohiki Seafoods
- Immediately after landing, we went here for poke. There is plenty of parking and it’s a great grab and go spot with a variety of poke selections and build your own plates.
- I rate this a 5/5 for high quality poke, great cucumber kimchi, and quick service. We took our food to-go and found a park with a bench and views.

- Island Treats and Gift Shop
- 5/5 spot for ice cream or shaved ice! Get their coconut or mango ice cream – so fresh, so fruity. We were actually in the area for The Musubi Truck Kalapaki to pick up snacks for the hike.

- Anattas Thai Food (Poipu)
- Stumbled upon this food truck after our hike and it nourished us back to health. Our group basically ordered the entire menu here, so you can’t go wrong with anything! Special shoutout for the skewers and green curry!
- I rate this a 5/5 for the fresh dishes made to order and their savory skewers! We all devoured our plates.

- Tony’s Catch
- If you search for the number one food truck in the world in Google, Tony’s catch will be one of the 3 options listed in the AI overview! My friends and I basically ordered the full menu here too, and nothing was a miss! Special shoutout to their fish tacos, tostadas, and fish and chips! I didn’t get the burrito, but my friends did and devoured it.
- I rate this a 5/5 for perfecting the dishes they offer. Each bite was full of flavor.

- Eating House 1849
- Shoutout to our sever! He took care of our large group and had excellent recommendations. Get the paella and the butterfish dish – you won’t regret it!
- I rate this a 5/5 because they were able to successfully accommodate a large group with great service, strong cocktails, and delicious food. If there’s a wait, head downstairs and do some shopping! There’s a Lululemon store selling merch that is only sold in Hawaii. My friends and I got shorts as souvenirs there!
